Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2019 Verified Purchase Dispite occasional difficulty in understanding the book, partly due to format, it turned out to be an excellent resource to delve fairly deeply into the subject for an actual understanding of the topic. (Rather than superficial understanding) If you struggle with the topic use some online videos then try rereading it for a better understanding. Practice problems are absolutely necessary. Do them there are lots you can choose from. Be aware there are simpler problems requiring basic math knowledge (pre-algebra) to more advanced ones through each subject math area up to calculus. It is accessible (mostly) no matter where you stand in mathmatics. There are a lot of errors. I liked the book though. But only using along with a class. If I was using this book for personal study, I would probably get confused and lost. I definitely think the author could proof read error check better and post an errata. But, I think its one of the best out there for this topic. The paper is really thin so I would strongly advise not to use a highlighter. If you use gel pens to write in the book, give the ink some time to dry otherwise it will smear. There are solutions to odd numbered problems in the back with verbose solutions where appropriate. There is also an index to quickly lookup the first mentioning and definition of important concepts. All-in-all, it appears to be a well-constructed book that will hopefully last a long time. edit : I had some concerns about the thickness of the paper and having a highlighter bleed through the paper. That is not the case. You can use a highlighter without any problems. I do use a paper towel do dab excess highlighter ink off after 10-15 seconds.
